Habitat— In Littoral and Subtropical Rainforest.

Distribution— North from Seventeen Seventy (South of Gladstone) in Queensland.

Description— Medium–sized shrub to 4 m high, sometimes branched.

Local occurrences

Raintrees Diamond Beach and The North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens Coffs Harbour.

Leaves.— With blade 35 to 65 cm long, 6 to 12 cm wide, veins longitudinal, widely spaced, blade abruptly contracted into petiole 12 to 30 cm long, grooved above.

Inflorescence.— Whitish; stalks 7 to 12 mm long.

Flowering.—Spring. Observed in Autumn.

Fruit.—Globose, 1 to 1.5 cm diam; red; seeds shiny black.

Ripe.—Summer
