Habitat—Forms colonies in rainforest, especially near creeks.

Distribution—Chiefly in north coastal regions of New South Wales, north into Queensland.

Description—Terrestrial fern, rhizome creeping, covered with red—brown to dark brown papery scales.

Local occurrences

Boorganna Nature Reserve, Boorganna Nature Reserve, Booti Hill, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, Sea Acres National Park and Zamia Place Reserve.

Fronds.—3 to 4—pinnate, to 100 cm long; main rachis pale, bearing a few small scales; lamina dark green, glossy, leathery; ultimate segments unequal—sided at the base, marginal teeth aristate.
