The town of Gloucester is located within the Manning district on the Mid North Coast some 145 kilometers north west from Sydney. It is located in prime dairy, beef cattle and sheep country.

The Gloucester district was first settlement in the 1830's with the town being established in 1855. When gold was discovered at Copeland, a small town north–west of Gloucester, Copeland became a large town of over 3,000 inhabitants, today it stands at a few hundred.
